Leon: >no assurances
I recall a few of them on the matter of mods being localized to sub-boards (former unions). Didn't tickle my fancy.
>easier to police on own
Tank: >not a big problem
By virtue of what has been discussed previously with making posting members only, picking who those members are, removing troublemakers, editing/deleting their posts, locking/deleting topics, etc.
Faster than 'too little, too late', eh?
>follow it for a bit before getting back to work
If they bother at all. I still expect to see them looking to wait this all out.
Tank: >not too far away
Were it only so that the unions would swiftly return. Yet still no official word.
GS has been on a downward trend for a long time, really.
Mike: >less competition
There never really was any for TUGOWU. Those that tried came late and died early. It isn't a concern.
I hardly trust even seasoned veterans with most of the edit work. As for an unknown entity for moderation, that's another story.
Lets not get ahead of ourselves, push our luck, etc.
Is it really so puzzling?
>might be why
Interesting theory. I like my own better, but yours isn't entirely divorced from what I'm going with.
Tank: >looks like
I should hope it were more obvious. Perhaps with time that will change. Though, the moment TUGOWU returns in full form is the moment I'll have had my fill here. Given the history of GS, that may be awhile. A chance to get familiar. How rare.
>may be next week
Wouldn't that just be lovely?
Shado: Yes. Amusing, is it not?
I'd wager it is to get sentiments like Last Ride's. I'm still of the opinion they just want to wait this out.
Leon: I'd lose basically all of my posts were it so. I doubt they would bring back the only union I care about even if they bring back others (among those that signed up for conversion). That's allowing for the notion they intend on keeping their word in any capacity.
Last Ride: For a 'social' oriented community, this would be a problem. Luckily, that is no such concern of mine. I can pick up business like nothing ever happened. Despite this, it is an inconvenience that I don't much care for (not having access to some notes and a neutral ground for vets). Like yourself, I'm not overly fond of their handling.
I imagine, like GFAQs, secrecy is of utmost importance to the behind-the-scenes chaps. Though, that pertains to mod activity/politics too regarding the flip-side of this coin.
Leon: >a plan
Tends to help.
Not an uncommon occurrence with GS.
All of which, for me, are at the Feedback board. Telling.
Tank: >keep hoping
I'm more for expecting the worst, bracing for impact, etc. Though doing that and still 'hoping' isn't an uncommon (or ill-advised) approach.
